Care & Daily Life

Care that’s truly personal.

Only six residents, 24-hour care, and a caregiver awake all night. Our caregivers get to know each person: their routines, their favorite foods, and the little things that make them comfortable.

Around the clock.

  • 24-hour carePersonalized care and support, day and night.
  • Awake overnightA caregiver is awake all night, not asleep down the hall.
  • Six residentsSo caregivers know each person, not just their care plan.

Life doesn’t stop when you move to Serenity.

This is our residents’ home. We want them to keep their independence, routines, interests and personal choices whenever it’s safe.

Choose how you spend your day. Relax by the pool. Watch a movie. Join an activity. Take a walk. Enjoy a quiet afternoon.

  • Games, activities and specially planned dinner nights
  • Quiet neighborhood walks and nearby parks
  • Hair stylist and nail care available, billed separately
  • Gentle exercise, music, bingo, cards and puzzles, arts and crafts, and karaoke
  • BBQ nights, big-screen movie nights, celebrations, and outings when appropriate

And for residents who enjoy animals, Tiger, a highly trained service dog, may stop by for a visit, with approval.

One monthly rate. So much is already included.

We keep things simple. Your monthly rate covers your private or shared room, 24-hour care, all meals, and the daily support that helps someone feel comfortable and cared for.

Our caregivers are chosen, not assigned.

Every Serenity caregiver is carefully selected. We look beyond experience and qualifications for people who are patient, dependable and compassionate, and who genuinely enjoy caring for seniors.

Every caregiver is:

  • HCA certified
  • Cleared by Live Scan fingerprinting and state and FBI criminal background checks
  • TB-cleared, with the required health exams
  • Trained in safe mobility and transfers, fall awareness and personal care
  • Trained in memory care and well versed in redirection methods
  • A clear, understandable English speaker, with bilingual staff available

Exceptional senior care isn’t just a list of daily tasks. It’s trust, dignity, and noticing when something isn’t quite right.

You should never have to wonder how Mom or Dad is doing.

Serenity uses a professional care-management system to document each resident’s day:

  • Meals & appetite
  • Hydration
  • Medication assistance
  • Sleep
  • Bathroom habits
  • Mobility
  • Activities
  • Personal care
  • Mood & behavior changes

A small change today can tell us something important about tomorrow.

Families get access to a secure family portal with detailed digital notes and care plans.

Technology never replaces a phone call. When something meaningful changes, you’ll hear from us. When something concerns us, we’ll tell you. And when things are going wonderfully, you’ll hear that too.

Medications.

A caregiver assists each resident with their medications as their doctor directs, and every dose is documented.

What a care home is, and isn’t.

Serenity is a licensed residential care home for the elderly. It is not a skilled nursing facility. We provide 24-hour care and supervision for people who need help with daily life.

When a resident needs medical care beyond that, such as wound care, therapy or hospice, it comes from outside providers, and we coordinate with them. Those providers bill separately.

Needs change over time. Often we can adjust the care right here. California sets limits on what a residential care home can provide, though, and if a resident’s needs go beyond them, we’ll tell you plainly and help your family find the right next place.

What it costs.

Monthly ratesfrom $6,800

Not included in the monthly rate:

  • Prescription medications
  • Incontinence supplies
  • Rides to appointments
  • Haircuts and professional nail care
  • Outside hospice or medical services, which those providers bill

We’ll go over the exact rate for your family member, and any one-time fees, on your tour.

If our rates change, you’ll get at least 90 days’ written notice.

The best way to understand the care is to see it.
